Community Guidelines
In plain language: Be truthful, be professional, never share patient information, no harassment, no impersonation. Break the rules and content or accounts may be removed.
1. The spirit
EMERGE exists so doctors can share honest career information safely. These rules protect that.
2. Always
- Post truthful, first-hand experiences.
- Keep criticism professional and specific.
- Respect colleagues across specialties, institutions, and seniority.
3. Never
- Patient information: never post anything that could identify a patient (names, identifiable details, images, case specifics traceable to a person). This is non-negotiable and may also violate law and professional ethics.
- Harassment or hate: no abuse, threats, doxxing, or discrimination.
- Impersonation: no posing as another person, hospital, or EMERGE staff.
- Defamation: no knowingly false claims about individuals or institutions.
- Spam and self-promotion beyond what community spaces allow.
- Illegal content of any kind.
4. Anonymous spaces
Anonymous features (e.g. Ghost Register, anonymous ratings) exist for safety — not as a shield for falsehoods. Anonymity does not exempt content from these rules, and we act on abuse.
5. Enforcement
EMERGE may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts at its sole discretion. Serious violations (patient privacy, threats, fraud) may result in immediate termination and, where required, reports to authorities.
