Terms of Service
1. Who we are
EMERGE ("EMERGE", "we", "us", "our") is an early-stage technology platform operated by its founder in India. EMERGE is currently pre-incorporation; these terms will be assigned to the registered entity upon incorporation, and this page will be updated accordingly.
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account or using emerge.doctor and its products (EMERGE, EMERGE.Jobs, EMERGE.Hire, FOCUS, Dr. Maple AI tools, calculators, the quiz platform and community features — together the “Platform”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
You must be at least 18 years old. If you use the Platform on behalf of an organisation (e.g. a hospital), you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation.
3. User eligibility & accounts
- You are responsible for the accuracy of all information you submit, including professional qualifications and experience.
- You must not impersonate another person or organisation, or misrepresent your credentials or affiliation.
- EMERGE may, but is not obliged to, verify medical credentials (e.g. registration numbers) and may suspend accounts that fail verification.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
4. User content
You retain ownership of content you post (reviews, ratings, salary submissions, posts, comments, CVs, job listings). You grant EMERGE a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content on the Platform for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.
You must not post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, that contains confidential patient information, or that infringes the rights of others. See the Community Guidelines.
EMERGE may remove or restrict any content at its sole discretion, with or without notice. EMERGE does not endorse any user content or opinions.
5. Hospital & department reviews
Reviews and ratings reflect the personal opinions and experiences of individual users — not the views of EMERGE. Users must submit truthful accounts of their own experience and must not include confidential patient information. The full rules are in the Hospital Review Policy.
6. Salary data
Salary information on the Platform (including the DMFPI index) is crowdsourced from users and may be incomplete, outdated or inaccurate. It is provided for general information only — do not rely solely on it for career or financial decisions. See the Salary Data Policy.
7. AI tools
AI-generated outputs (including Dr. Maple and analysis tools) are informational only and may contain inaccuracies. You must independently verify all information. No clinical, legal, employment or financial decision should rely solely on AI-generated content. See the AI Disclaimer.
8. Medical & educational content
All medical and educational content is provided for educational purposes only. No doctor-patient relationship is created with EMERGE or any contributor, and nothing on the Platform substitutes professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. See the Medical Disclaimer.
9. EMERGE.Hire — recruiters & employers
- EMERGE is a technology platform connecting employers and candidates. EMERGE is not the employer for any role posted and is not a recruitment agency.
- EMERGE does not guarantee employment, interviews, candidate quality, or hiring outcomes for any party.
- Employers and recruiters are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of their job postings and their hiring decisions.
- Employers must use candidate data (profiles, CVs, messages) only for recruitment for the posted role and in compliance with applicable law.
10. Fellowships & listings
Fellowship, course and job listings are provided by third parties or aggregated from public sources. EMERGE does not guarantee the quality, accreditation or availability of any fellowship, institution or position. Independently verify any institution before applying, paying or relocating.
11. Surgical simulation & future tools
Any surgical simulation, robotic-training or skills tools that EMERGE may offer are for training and educational purposes only. They are not a substitute for formal surgical training, supervision or institutional credentialing, and EMERGE is not a credentialing platform.
12. Acceptable use
- No scraping, bulk-downloading or reselling of Platform data, including salary data and profiles.
- No attempts to bypass security, access other accounts, or disrupt the service.
- No spam, pyramid schemes, or unauthorised advertising.
- No use of the Platform to violate any law or regulation.
13. Limitation of liability
EMERGE is a technology platform. To the maximum extent permitted by law, EMERGE, its founder, and its affiliates are not liable for and make no warranties regarding:
- employment decisions, hiring outcomes, or the conduct of any employer, recruiter or candidate;
- actions, omissions or conditions of any hospital, institution or workplace;
- user-generated content, including reviews, ratings, posts and CVs;
- AI-generated outputs and any decision made in reliance on them;
- salary submissions and the accuracy of aggregated salary data;
- the accuracy of reviews or any other crowdsourced information;
- losses arising from Platform downtime, data loss, or third-party services.
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, EMERGE’s aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid EMERGE in the 12 months preceding the claim (currently ₹0 for free accounts).
14. Termination
You may delete your account at any time (see the Account Deletion Policy). EMERGE may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with or without notice.
15. Changes, governing law & contact
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced on the Platform and the “last updated” date revised. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and courts in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
